The indicator is a response indicator. Coastline areas are facing greater pressures from human activity and climate change. The goal is to mitigate these impacts and protect biodiversity. The total coastline length of Turkey, excluding islands, is 8592 km. The protected coastline length is 2,110 km, which is 24% (as of 2020) [66].
