The indicator is a response indicator that represents the percentage of the municipal population served by the sewerage system out of the total municipal population.
The share of the municipal population served by the sewerage system out of the total municipal population was set at percent 91.1for the year 2020. The total number of municipalities is 1389 and the number of municipalities connected to the sewerage system is 1362 (percent 98 of municipalities) in 2020.
The average daily per capita volume of wastewater discharged by municipalities through the sewerage system increased from 126 liters in 1994 to 189 liters in 2012[51].
